The Peugeot 208 has a range of high performance and eco-friendly engines.
The Peugeot 208 offers a choice of diesel engines, and the latest-generation petrol engines. Much lighter, this vehicle consumes less fuel and produces fewer polluting and CO2 emissions In terms of fuel consumption, the 208 unveils the first in a new range of three-cylinder 1.0l, 1.2l VTi and THP petrol engines, combining a high level of performance and fuel economyiThe combined-cycle consumption of the 1.0l and 1.2l VTi versions respectively is 4.3 and 4.5 l/km.. High performance drivetrains and e-HDi also ensure better control of fuel consumption and driving pleasure.
208 diesel engines are available with e-HDi technology, and can also be fitted with Stop & Start micro-hybrid technology. Rapid, efficient and silent, this new generation of Stop & Start technology allows the engine to be put into "standby" mode, just before and while the car is at a standstill, thereby allowing for improved control of fuel consumption and a reduction in CO2 emissions. When the brake pedal is released, the engine immediately restarts, silently and without vibration.
The efficiency of the diesel HDi FAP engines and the VTi and THP petrol engines, consolidated by the arrival of a new generation of three-cylinder petrol engines, contributes towards a significant fall in CO2 emissions. Combined-cycle fuel consumption ranges from 3.4 to 5.8 l/100km. CO2 emissions are around 87 to 139 g/km.
